What We Believe

Welcome! It is our purpose to reach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be a biblical place of worship for God’s people. As we strive to accomplish both of these by God’s grace, we invite you to see the scriptural principles in which we aim to fulfill. Thank you for taking the time to read this over and please do not hesitate to contact us at the church office if you have any questions!

Grace Baptist Church is driven biblically, by three distinct principles, which determines everything that we do.  The desire to serve will provoke us to fulfill these vital practices:

We exhibit our love towards God by first, entering into a relationship with Jesus Christ by faith and repentance of our sins, and second, by demonstrating His love to others in and outside the membership of this body of believers.

We grow through the preaching and teaching of His Word. We demonstrate our desire and growth by attending church, having a daily time in His Word, and by sharing God’s truth with others.

We are burdened to share the amazing power of Jesus’ love with all that come into our sphere of influence. This is the first and most important step of fulfilling the Great Commission as the Lord commanded God’s people to fulfill. We have an opportunity and obligation to reach the globe with the Gospel, one soul at a time. We illustrate that desire by reaching our neighbors here locally, as well as supporting missionaries around the world.

Grace Baptist Church is:

Independent- Not part of any convention, or national organization.  Fundamental-Belief in the fundamentals of the faith, i.e. the virgin birth of Christ, the deity of Christ, inerrancy of the scriptures, substitutionary atonement, literal resurrection of Christ, the second coming of Christ.

We believe that the King James version of the Bible is the inerrant (without error), inspired (God breathed), preserved Word of God and that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21

Sovereignty of God

God is a Person, eternally existing, as a Trinity in unity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, -three Persons and yet one God.  Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 26:19

Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, who became a sinless man in order to redeem us. He was born of a virgin, and is true God and true man.

Luke 1:3-55, John 1:1-15, Phillipians 2:5-8, Colossians 1:15

Man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death, but also spiritual death, or eternal separation from God. Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race, with an inherited sinful nature.  Genesis 1:26-27, 2:6, 3:16-19, Romans 3:10-23, 6:23

Sacrifice of Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substituionary payment for the sins of the whole world. He physically arose from the dead and then ascended into Heaven. simple faith in this sacrifice, and repentance of our sins, is the only way of salvation for mankind.

Luke 24, Acts 1:9-11, Romans 5:8-10, Ephesians 1:20-23, 1Peter 3:18

The local church is a group of believers baptized by immersion, banded together in membership for edification, exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission; preaching the gospel to every creature. All of these are done for the sole purpose of glorifying God.

Mark 16:15, 1Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22-23

End Times

Jesus Christ Himself will soon come again in the air to catch up His Church and to reward it’s service. The unbelievers left behind will go through a period called the Tribulation, after which Christ will return to the earth to set up His kingdom of 1,000 years of righteous rule. After this the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in the fulness of joy in Heaven with the Lord.

Matthew 24:29-42, 1Thessalonians 4:16-18, Revelation 19:11-20:13
